Zolt needs consistent nutrition and bodyweight records to keep your Adaptive TDEE estimate current. You can log directly in Zolt or connect a supported health platform, depending on the data type and device.
Choose one primary source per data type
The cleanest setup has one main writer for nutrition and one for bodyweight.
| Data | Common source |
|---|---|
| Nutrition | Zolt, or a nutrition app connected through the supported health platform |
| Bodyweight | Zolt, a smart scale, or a connected health platform |
| Workouts and steps | Apple Watch, iPhone, Android device, or workout app |
| Sleep and heart rate | A compatible wearable through the connected platform |
Avoid logging the same meal or weigh-in in two apps that both save it to Health. Duplicate records can make your history look wrong even when each app is working as designed.
Nutrition setup
Logging in Zolt is the simplest option because the entry appears directly in the food diary. If you use another supported nutrition app, confirm that it writes the relevant nutrition data and that Zolt has permission to read it.
After connecting, compare one full day in the source with the same day in Zolt. Check the total and the individual entries. This catches duplicates and missing permissions early.
Bodyweight setup
A smart scale can reduce manual work if it writes to Apple Health or Health Connect. Manual weigh-ins also work.
Bodyweight changes from day to day for many reasons, including hydration, food in the digestive system, and measurement conditions. Similar weigh-in conditions make the trend easier to read. See Why weight fluctuates for context.
Check source access
On Apple Health, open the relevant data type and review Data Sources and Access. Apple Health can contain records from several devices and apps, and source priority affects overlapping data.
On Health Connect, review app permissions and the recent access history for the relevant data type.
Before deleting any record, confirm which app wrote it. Health-data deletion can sync across devices.
What to expect after connecting
Zolt can only use records that the source provides and that you have allowed it to read. A new connection may include available history, but the amount depends on the source and its permissions.
Your estimate may not update immediately if recent nutrition or weight information is missing or incomplete. The public troubleshooting path is in Why is my TDEE not updating?.
If data is missing or duplicated
- Compare the affected day in Zolt with the original source.
- Confirm read and write permissions for the relevant apps.
- Check for more than one writer of the same data type.
- Remove duplicate entries only after identifying their source.
- Reopen Zolt after the health platform finishes syncing.
If the source is correct but Zolt still differs, contact support with the date, data type, source app, and screenshots.
