Your calorie target can change without a visible change in daily weight because the target is not calculated from today's scale reading alone. It also reflects the current TDEE estimate, your goal settings, and how you chose to distribute or update the plan.
Check what changed
Compare the current target with the previous one, then check these areas in order.
TDEE status and history
The current TDEE estimate may have updated even when today's scale value did not. Zolt uses a nutrition and weight history rather than treating one weigh-in as the entire signal.
Open the TDEE detail screen and check the update date, status, and recent direction.
Goal and pace
A change to Lose, Gain, or Maintain, the target weight, or the selected pace can move the calorie target. Review the goal summary and confirm that the settings still match what you intended.
Target cadence and day settings
Daily and weekly target cadences can make the plan appear to move at different times. Day-distribution settings can also place different calorie targets on different days while leaving the broader goal unchanged.
Compare the same day in the plan before deciding that the target changed unexpectedly.
Corrected records
A meal, portion, incomplete-day status, weigh-in, or source record may have been corrected. The visible target can change after Zolt has a different usable history, even if you did not add a new weigh-in today.
What does not directly explain it
One workout, a high step count, or the active-calorie value on Apple Watch is not copied into the Adaptive TDEE target as a matching calorie credit.
If activity and the target both changed, treat that as context rather than proof of a direct adjustment. See Do active calories change your Zolt target?.
What to do
- Confirm the TDEE status and last update.
- Review the current goal and pace.
- Check the target cadence and day distribution.
- Look for recent nutrition or weight corrections.
- Confirm that the target is for the expected date.
If those items are correct, use the current target and watch the broader progress trend. Repeatedly editing the goal to reverse small target changes makes the plan harder to evaluate.
Contact support if the displayed target does not match the confirmed goal settings or appears on the wrong date.
