A few useful details

Why is this an estimate?

Pours, ABV, recipes, and mixers vary. Use the package label when one is available, or enter the actual volume and ABV as a custom drink.

What is a U.S. standard drink?

It contains about 14 g of pure alcohol. Common examples are 12 fl oz of 5% beer, 5 fl oz of 12% wine, or 1.5 fl oz of 40% spirits.

Does this calculate BAC or when it is safe to drive?

No. It is a calorie and drink-size estimate only. It cannot determine blood alcohol level, impairment, or driving safety.
