Logging Through iMessage

How to link Zolt messaging, send a meal in plain language, review the result, and correct or cancel it before saving.

DietUpdated 2026-08-22

Zolt messaging lets you describe a meal without opening the app. The important part of the flow is review: Zolt shows what it understood and waits for you to confirm or correct it.

Link your account

Open Zolt and follow the current Messaging setup instructions. Linking associates the conversation with your account.

Use only the official contact and linking flow shown in Zolt. Do not send health or account information to an unverified number or account.

Log a meal

Send a plain-language description, such as:

Two eggs, two slices of sourdough, and a flat white.

Zolt returns a proposed food log. Check the foods, portions, calories, macros, meal, and date before confirming.

If the proposal is correct, use the confirmation shown in the conversation. If it is wrong, describe the correction or use the edit option shown. Cancel it if you do not want it saved.

Write descriptions that are easy to review

Include details that change the entry:

  • quantity or serving size;
  • cooking method;
  • oil, dressing, sauce, or toppings;
  • brand or restaurant when relevant; and
  • whether the message refers to today or another date.

You can still correct a saved entry in the app. See Correcting meals and portions.

Get the current command list

Messaging features and commands can change. Send HELP in the official conversation or use the in-app Messaging help for the authoritative list instead of relying on an old article or screenshot.

Privacy and safety

Treat a message thread as sensitive. Review what you send, keep your device and account protected, and unlink an old number or channel before moving to another one.

Coach is not an emergency service and messaging is not medical care. Do not use it for urgent symptoms or time-sensitive clinical decisions.

If a log does not save

  1. Check whether the proposal is still waiting for confirmation.
  2. Confirm that the conversation is linked to the correct Zolt account.
  3. Check the diary in the app before sending the meal again.
  4. Look for a service or credit message in the conversation.
  5. Use HELP or contact support if the thread remains stuck.

Avoid sending the same meal repeatedly while sync is pending, since that can create duplicates.
